Quack and Daisy by Aileen Stewart

As a clinical psychologist who works a lot with children, I am often in search of good books that teach social skills or other life lessons. I found such a book in Quack and Daisy by Aileen Stewart. In Quack and Daisy, a duck named Quack meets a cat named Daisy in the meadow and instantly become the best of friends.  However, the soon learn that their families don’t approve of such a friendship and point out all the reasons they should not be friends.

I am planning on using this book to teach:

• The true mean of friendship
• Everyone is good at something
• Don’t believe everything you hear about someone
• You don’t have to like the same things to be friends
• You can find something in common with almost everyone
