Hey Supporters, As you may remember about this time last year, I challenged myself to review 104 books in a year. While I started the year out strong, the last few months have been problematic. It looks like the book I am doing with a publisher has been delayed again (please keep this situation in your prayers as I have allowed the delays to consume way too much of my time and energy). So instead of reviewing 104 books, I only reviewed 55 books. In addition, my Amazon Reviewer Ranking has been slowly creeping up. It is now 79,742 (up almost 30,000 points since the last time I checked). If you have a book or a product that you are interested in me reviewing please check my reviewer guidelines. So enough with the boring details. Now for the moment you have been waiting for. The best book I have reviewed and read in the last month. So drum roll please.... The honor for the February 2015 Book of the Month Pick by Corine is...... Love Letters From God. As a child I loved lift-the-flap books. I was always excited to see what surprise was under the flap. Needless to say, I am super excited about Zonderkidz’ newest Bible storybook entitled Love Letters From God. Love Letters from God covers 18 popular Bible stories (half from the Old Testament and half from the New Testament). Each story has a correlating Bible verse, entitled ‘God’s Wonderful Words to You’.” Each ‘God’s Wonderful Word to You’ was a carefully chosen promise that is important for your child to remember. There is also a life-the-flap for each story that is a Love Letter from God to your child. You can lift-the-flap and personalize each letter with your child’s name (I would recommend doing this when you first get the book). For example, the creation story is told, the accompanying ‘God’s Wonderful Word to You’ is Jeremiah 29:11, and accompanying ‘Love Letter’ talks about how happy God made your child and has wonderful plans for him/her. This book reminds me of my own book, My Journey with Jesus Christ, in which parents can write a prayer/love letter to their children. While I am picking this book as my book of the month, I do have a few slight issues with this book.
That is all for now. Continue to pray for me as I pray for you, Corine

I like the conclusion you came to. I think I would do the same. God doesn't write letters. He speaks to use through prayer.

I completely agree with you. We would never want "Letters from God" to be anywhere similar to "Letters from Santa". I am glad you didn't sugarcoat this point to give a good review, but stated the obvious!

I'm glad you wrote this. I recently pinned this book to my 'Books to Read' board but hadn't read any actual reviews on it yet. I would have issues with the liberties and letters also. I appreciate your honesty! It can be so hard find quality Christian books.

I review a lot of books too. It can be overwhelming but does my bookworm heart a lot of good. I have a few ladies at church who have been raving about this book! Well-written and beautifully illustrated. But after reading your review, it seems a little bit casual in its accuracy. I'll have to look more closely.

Smart decision. But I wish I still had little ones to read such books too. It does sound like a sweet book in general
