Greetings Supporters,
As you know I am a big Lee Strobel fan. I have read The Case For Faith, A Creator and Christ, given them as gift and own the DVD series. Therefore, I jumped at a chance to review his latest book The Case for Hope. In The Case for Hope, Strrobel explains that “true hope” is more than wishful thinking, blind optimism, or hopeful dreams. True hope is only found in trusting in Jesus Christ. One way that Strobel states the idea of hope is as follows: "Hope is the inextinguishable flicker God ignites in our souls to keep us believing in the prevailing power of His light even when we are surrounded by utter darkness." "Hope is the inextinguishable flicker God ignites in our souls to keep us believing in the prevailing power of His light even when we are surrounded by utter darkness." This book goes on to highlights the relationship between hope and doubt with a special emphasis on the fact that doubt is not a sin. The book then uses anecdotal case studies about why people can put their hope in Christ and ends with a 30 day journal that includes Bible verses about hope. While I loved this book, I do want to warn other readers and Strobel fans that this book does not exhibit Strobel’s trademark investigative/research style. Instead this book is a light read that I think is perfect for this time of year. I normally do not comment on the physical appearance of adult books; however, this book is beautiful. It has a hard cushy cover and thick pages. I highly recommend this book as a gift for yourself or someone else. Family Christian Stores sponsored this giveaway by providing me with a free copy of A Case for Hope. In addition, they are blessing one lucky reader with a copy of the book. There's that old quotation: Hope springs eternal in the human breast.
