Quite surprisingly, I was asked a few weeks ago if I would take part in a blog hop. My first thought was, "A what?" Thankfully, an explanation followed. It sounded like a lot a fun, and I decided it was definitely something I wanted to do. In short, a blog hop is a way authors/bloggers can promote one another and share their writing experience by answering several questions (usually three or four). Cindy tagged me in her blog last month, and I in turn have tagged four more authors at the end of this post. I hope you'll enjoy hopping around and finding other children's authors (and their books) through the Children's Author Blog Hop! Now for the questions: What are you working on right now? I just completed my first activity book Why I Give. In addition, I am working on merging my training as a Clinical Psychologist with my Christian faith in a new series of books that is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2014. If you would like to stay update on the progress of my new book or what I am doing, be sure to signup for email notifications here: http://eepurl.com/JfnZz How does your writing process work? My writing process is always interesting. The only things that are consistent is starting with prayer and ending with tears (I always cry when I see the finish product). My first book, Why We Give Gifts at Christmas Time literally took me 10 years to write. I wrote the second book, My Journey with Jesus Christ, one Saturday morning. Who are authors you most admire? I really love fiction authors who teach a lesson through their story. I love Karen Kingsbury, Francis Rivers and I recently discovered Ted Dekker. With the working I am doing with my children books, I am also discovering a lot of great Christian Children authors: Virginia Finnie; Crystal Marable; Chanz’e Witcher; and W. Wilkinson III. Where do you turn for instruction and inspiration? I turn to the Bible for instruction and inspiration. I love looking for Biblical reasons to answer life’s questions. I also have some great accountability partners that are always giving me guidance. Here are a couple more bloggers who I hope you will visit as they go on tour next. Click on their names to go to their main blogs. Happy Blog Hopping! Author, Crystal Marable, writes to inspire.
