My mother has always encouraged me to read a chapter of Proverbs each day. She pointed out to me very early in my life, that the book of Proverbs has 31 chapters; which is enough for a daily reading. My mother also pointed out that Proverbs has so much wisdom, that you could read it often and always gain something new. I also love the book of Proverbs because it is something both children and adults can read. As we enter into 2014, I challenge you to take my mother’s challenge and read a chapter of Proverbs each day for a year. As with each year, 2014 will requires us to use wisdom as we make the right decisions, set goals and continue to live our lives to the glory of God. In order to help with this challenge, I have created several free printables based on the SOAP method of studying the Bible for children and adults. You can download a copy for children here and adults here. The S.O.A.P. works like this: S- Scripture – just write the scripture that stands out to you. For children, you can have them draw what their favorite verse or write it for them. O- Observation – just write what you observed or noticed in the verse. This can be anything such as who was it written to, what the verse is talking about, or just a summary of what the verse means. For children, either have them draw a picture or help them write one word that describe what they read. A- Application – just write how the verse applies to your life. Again, for children have them draw a picture about how the verse can be applied to their life. P- Prayer – just end your Bible study time with a prayer. It can be any prayer but it is nice to link it back to what your just read. For children, you can have them draw a picture or dictate their prayer to you.

Hello Supporters, I just wanted to share with you a prayer that changed my life. I started praying this pray during a time when things were pretty uncertain for me. I was literally going to work each day wondering if this would be the day I would get fired. Can you imagine what type of anxiety that caused me? Anyway, one day on my way to work, God reminded me of some very simple truths that give me comfort.
I combined these truths into a simple pray that I still say when life gets overwhelming, out of control, or just plain stress full. I also say this little prayer when I need comfort. Feel free to modify and make it your own. Lord Jesus, I come before You thanking You for this day. I am able to thank You for this day right now because I know You are in control of this day. Because You are in control of this day, I do not need to be in control of this day. Because You are in control of this day, I know You already know what is going to happen to me today. Because You already know what is going to happen to me today, I know that You have already worked the details of this day out for my good. Lord Jesus because I know You have already worked the details out for my good; I can relax today and enjoy the ride. Amen Until next time supporters, Please pray for me as I pray for you, Corine Ok Supporters, I need your help! Things are super busy with me, and my publisher just contacted me to inform me that they need my book teaser and author biography by 12/20/2013. So I need your feedback and suggestions. Here is what I came up with for the book teaser and author bio. What do you think? I have linked both to a Google document that you can feel free to edit (don’t worry I can track all the changes, so feel free to edit your hearts out or just post your suggestions in the comment sections). Book Teaser: Does your child have trouble expressing their feelings? Do they shut down when sad or yell when mad? Then Godly Feelings is the perfect book for them. In Godly Feelings a variety of multiethnic youngsters will express different feelings and teach children what the Bible says about each. This book will not only help children identify and express their feelings God’s way, but it will also teaches children that all feelings are OK because God gave each feeling to them. Godly Feelings is also for parents, teachers, and professionals who often wonder how to react to the variety of emotions expressed by children. Godly Feelings is designed to stimulate discussion and interaction between children and the adults who care for them. Author’s Bio: Corine Hyman works as a clinical psychologist full-time in Baltimore, MD. But after hours, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and dancing. While she has no biological children, she has had the privilege of helping raise four children through foster care and a host of nieces, nephews and other little people. Among the little people, she is known as Aunt Cor. She is also the author of three other books: Why I Give; Why We Give Gifts at Christmas Time; and My Journey with Jesus Christ. As always, pray for me as I pray for you, Corine To access the Google Doc and suggestion a change click here Hey Supporters,
