Hello Supporters,
Just wanted to take a few minutes to talk about support. Below are some top ways to support me on any Christian author on their journey. Before I published my first book, I did not realize how much authors appreciated readers taking the time to publicly support them. Sure, I occasionally would mention a book I loved to a friend, but that was the extent of my support. But now being on the other side of the fence, I realize just how much it means when readers take a little extra time to offer their public support. First and foremost, please pray for me. As a Christian, I firmly believe in the power of prayer. I am what I am because someone prayed for me. So please pray for me. Write a book review and post it on Amazon. If you have ever ordered on Amazon then you are eligible to post a review. It’s very simple to do and incredibly helpful (if it’s a good review!). Here are the links to each of my book Copy and paste your review onto other online bookstores. There’s nothing wrong with copying your Amazon review and using it on other sites, like GoodReads, Shelfari, Barnes&Noble.com or CBD.com Please 'like' my Amazon author page. The 'like' button is on the right, above the 'stay up to date' section.http://www.amazon.com/Corine-Hyman/e/B00AWZ5FL2/ Promote the books on social media. A number of my friends have taken pictures of my book when it arrives in the mail or reading the book to their children and then posted them on Facebook or instagram. If you're on Twitter, you can also write a short recommendation with a link so others can purchase it. Pass along the book to a friend or to family. And ask them to pass it along when they are done Buy the book as a gift for friends and family. Publishing houses keep track of every book sale. And each purchase is important to me. Ask your local library and bookstore to carry my books. First check if they have the book (you can usually look it up online) and if they do not, next time you are at your library, personally request the book. Subscribe to this blog. Signup today by clicking here http://eepurl.com/JfnZz Everyone who signs up will receive a free Names of God Pamphlet. Feature me on your blog, podcast, or newsletter. If you (or a company you run) has a blog, podcast, newsletter, YouTube channel, or other content stream, make a point of interviewing me or your other author friend for it. Donate the book to your local nonprofit organization (i.e., school, boys and girls club or children shelter). Well that is all for now, please pray for me and know I am praying for you. Corine

Today I would like to talk about formatting. Again this is just the process I use, there are other methods available. Hopefully, by now all of your illustrations are done. When I first started creating picture books, I had my illustrator also include the text in the picture. Since then, I have started embedding the text after the illustrations are done. I prefer adding the text myself because it allows me more control and I can edit the text at anytime. Below is my attempt to describe how to format a book:
Well that is all for now supporters, Please continue to pray for me and know that I am praying for you. Corine P.S. I had hope to include some really great screenshots of the process but they did not turn out the way I wanted them. Greetings Supporters, I am super excited. I just completed my first subscriber freebie: Names of God Pamphlet. This pamphlet contains over 200 names of God and where to find each in the Bible. In addition, it covers the three primary names of God covered in the Old Testament. 1. GOD (Elohim) - Genesis 1:1 The strong creator 2. LORD (Jehovah, or Yahweh) - The self-existing One – (Genesis 2:4) 3. LORD/Master (Adonai) - The Headship Name – (Genesis 15:2) If you subscribe to my blog, you should have received an email containing the freebie. If you haven’t subscribed to my blog, what are you waiting for? Signup today by clicking here http://eepurl.com/JfnZz Well that is all for now, continue to pray for me as I pray for you, Corine Hey supporters, Do you know that the southern hemisphere of the world celebrates Christmas in July (it is winter there now)? As you may know, I love celebrating the birth of the Lord Jesus. So I decided to celebrate Christmas in July as well. Until July 31, 2014, Why We Give Gifts at Christmas Time is BOGO (buy one get one free). All you have to do, is purchase a copy of Why We Give Gifts through my website and I will automatically include a free book. By the way, there is no limit on this deal. Buy one book, get two; by two books get four, etc. Just think, not only can you score a great gift for the little ones in your life but you can also spread the message of why we give gifts at Christmas time if it is Jesus’ Birthday. Well that is all for not. Continue to pray for me as I pray for you, Corine P.S. Though I post last week as a part of Blogging Through The Alphabet with Marcy @ BenandMe.com, I missed linking up. Therefore, I am out. However, I had a lot of fun and I cannot believe I made it nine weeks. P.S.S. Don’t forget to visit http://christianchildrensauthors.com/ this Saturday for another book review by me. If you have a child that has a problem with lying, I have the perfect book for you. |
